Steeling some "us" time

It is hard to get some "me" time these days let alone "us"time, but with the help of Aunt Allie and Uncle Marcus, Russ and I were able to do just that. Allison and Marcus came over for the day to watch the girls so Russ and I could have a "date day". We thought we were going to have tickets to the Steelers game, but when they fell through, we decided to head down toward the stadium to try to scalp some tickets and meet up with a few friends. The scalpers were WAY over priced, so we didn't go to the game...but, we still had fun and it was nice to get out--just the two of us!

Back at the house, I think the girls wore out their "baby sitters" and had a great time doing so! Thanks again for helping us out guys!

Lexie still loves playing with Olivia's stool--even though she has her own!

Riding around--

After Lexie woke up from her post social butterflies nap...she was itching to go outside. It was a beautiful fall day and with the winter winds rapidly approaching, we decided to take full advantage of weather! She made a mad dash toward her bicycle. Dora helmet and all...she made a few laps around the driveway while Olivia looked on with excitement! Russ was even home to capture some of the fun! I wish I could bottle up afternoons like this!!!

Suited up and ready to gooooooo...this little one may have a future in Nascar...she kept making left turns!
Lexie having fun with her shadow. I think I like the helmet idea--maybe she could wear it full time???
The look on both of their faces says it all!

Back inside..."being this cute sure makes me tired!"
Snuggling with sissy!!! Awwww!!!

Oh SO social!!!

It wouldn't be Friday without a trip to SOCIAL BUTTERFLIES! Since we are going to be going to Houston for Thanksgiving, Lexie is going to miss next week--so we made it a family affair and all four of us went. She had such a great time! The craft this week was Indian head dresses (feathers included)! Singing, dancing, crafting, eating, playing...is there a Social Butterflies for adults???

Lexie is really starting to get the hang of the "Welcome/Good morning song". Here she is passing the bells to her friend.
Olivia is focused on all the action!
Lexie and her friend Megan walking down the hall toward the gym!
Still holding hands...such cuties!
She has found a new fun toy! The mini trampoline!!!
Here she is with her all time favorite...the parachute! Still learning to wait our turn!
Russ jams out to the music with the little social butterflies! Even big kids can have fun!!!

Splish Splash

I couldn't resist bath time with the girls! Lexie loves taking baths--especially all the bubbles, and Olivia just loves to stare at her big sister! We had a squeaky clean time!

Rub-a-dub-dub...

Enjoying the bubbles...

Hugs

This is quite possibly my new favorite picture of the girls!!! I took this picture while we were getting Lexie ready for bed. I asked her if "sissy" could sit on her bed while we changed her diaper and she crawled up next to Olivia and gave her a kiss. I asked Lexie if she wanted to hold her and she said yes. So glad I had the camera close by!

Time flies!!!!

It doesn't seem possible that Olivia is already 5 months old! Where does the time go? It seems like we just brought her home from the hospital--and now look at her! How stinkin' cute! We are soooooo incredibly blessed!

Mirror mirror on the wall...

...who's the fairest of them all???
First the blanket was up over her head and around her shoulders (Red riding hood style-not pictured). Then she decided it would be better suited as a dress--all the while she was talking up a storm to herself in the mirror!!! (This child sure does have an imagination!!!)

Cute Little Cupcakes

I saw these adorable matching shirts and had to get them for the girls...especially since they were dirt cheap and on sale! I think they look adorable in them, but then again I am biased!

The look on their faces are priceless!
This one, even better. Olivia looks to her big sis who looks as though she is up to NO good! "Who me"?
Lexie giving her little sis some love!
We moved the "photo shoot" down stairs...Lexie was running around like crazy and Olivia was LAUGHING--it was so adorable!
Such a cutie!

Happy "How-da-ween"

I am pretty sure Lexie was in hog heaven. Not only did she get to dress up as Dora, but she did it 3 days in a row! She had her Social Butterflies party on Friday, trick or treat Saturday, and our neighborhood 'parade'--thanks to the weather--on Sunday. The costume was a huge hit...thanks so much to the Kadusons who generously gave us the outfit!!!

Shortly after Russ got home from work, we headed over to our wonderful neighbor's, the Egans to wish Al a happy birthday and take the kids trick or treating. We didn't venture too far from home (just did the little loop) but we made it to a few houses before the weather decided not to cooperate again. We were better off anyways...we didn't need a bunch of candy around the house...especially since we don't give it to Lexie very often!

Here is "Dr. Adams" all dressed up and ready to go! (Looks as though this potential future doctor isn't thrilled about the health care reform!!!)
"Dr. Adams" and her daddy ready to go trick or treating!
She just LOVES her daddy!
Sadie, our neighbor, makes the CUTEST little chicken!!!
Cole wanted to be a SPOOKY ghost...he is too cute to be spooky though!
Russ relaxing with the girls after trick or treating.

After trick or treating, Lexie took her Dora wig off and let her hair down...well part of it at least...and wanted us all to sing along with her. Click on the video below!!!

The next day was our big neighborhood parade. Most of the kids in the neighborhood met at the "main intersection" where we followed the biggest kid of all...REGE. Yes, the grand marshal of the parade was our wonderful neighbor Regis. He dressed up as a witch and led the parade on his quad! Such fun neighbors we have!

Sadly Lexie did not wear her Dora wig to the parade. It was all I could do to get her dressed in her costume and out the door...she took a 3 and a half hour nap that day...I literally had to wake her up to go!!!! I am so glad we did...she had such a great time!
The grand poobah--Mr. Rege!
