Trying to stay warm in Florida

Lexie sporting her new favorite pose...again! Yoga/football/gymnastics anyone??

Lexie has started throwing pillows on the floor and plopping down on them! It is the cutest thing...she puts her head down and acts as though she is going to take a nap. Of course it is VERY short lived, but we were able to capture it this time!!!

She is as cute as can be in her new Halloween outfit. GG bought her this today since it was so chilly!

All smiles here with her blankey in tow! Too cute to Spook...just like her shirt says!!!!

Lexie's Day at the Beach

Today GG and I took Lexie to the beach. GPa isn't a big fan of all the sand so he stayed behind. After wheeling her stroller through the sand (ugggh, what a workout) we finally reached the perfect spot! We set up shop in the shade of the palm trees close to the Pier and Sharkey's. She could hardly wait to explore! The first couple of steps, she was unsure...then in true Lexie fashion...she began to hand us every little bit of trash and debris she came across. After taking a few pictures, we walked hand in hand down to the water. Testing her independence...she wiggled free only to face plant in the sand! That's right, sand in her hair, up her nose, in her mouth, all over the front of her!. That didn't seem to stop her, so we brushed her off and kept on for the water. As much as she likes the pool, I thought for certain she would love it! Maybe it was because the water was a little cold, maybe it was because it was close to her nap time, but she didn't like it one bit! As soon as the first little wave came up to her feet, she began to cry. I thought for sure it was my ears playing tricks on me because she rarely cries...but the next wave came and the same thing happened! I took her out of the water and let her walk around and tried again...SAME reaction! I took her water socks off since they were soaked and began to walk back up to our spot and she instantly began to cry again! She didn't like the sand on her feet! I couldn't believe it! I carried her around for a bit but she wasn't going for it! We stayed for a while longer to enjoy the breeze and sounds of the waves then packed up and headed back to the condo. We didn't even make it out of the parking lot before she was asleep.. I think maybe we will wait for da-da to try it again!

Lexie is holding on to dear life in this picture...she did not want back in the water!!

More Fun in the SUN!!

Lexie and I have had to detour from our 'routine' the last couple of days. A "cold" front has passed through leaving it in the low 60s first thing in the morning...a little too cool to swim if you ask me! We haven't let that slow us down...instead, we have been going for walks around the Plantation to allow it to heat up a bit before we make our way to the pool.

Lexie is making sure we haven't gotten lost in the Plantation!

She breathes a sigh of relief to see GG's neighborhood.

Back in the condo waiting for the sun to heat up the air before we head off to the pool.

Lexie at the table..."Where's the beef??"

Her new friend...I think she really wants to bring him home Russ...what do you think? This big guy was steps away from the condo on the edge of the 6th fairway!

A view from GG's...Just between the 5th and 6th hole!

Fun at Farmington

Lexie and I are really enjoying our stay in Florida!!! It has been absolutely gorgeous with loads of sun and warm weather every day! We seemed to have worked ourself into a nice daily ritual. Every morning after breakfast, we head over to the pool to take a swim and splash around. After Lexie has had enough splishing and splashing around, she and GG take a stroll around Farmington looking for birds, lizzards, and of course any friends that may have arrived, while GPa and I stay at the pool. We try to make it back to the condo before the sun gets too hot and anyone gets burned! SO FAR SO GOOD!!! Be sure to check back for more pictures! We have big plans to check out the beach!!! It will be Lexie's first visit...Sorry Russ, but we will take plenty of pictures and videos!

Lexie waving bye-bye to GPa as she and GG head out on their daily walk.

It was a super fun night as Lexie helped GG (and herself) put rollers in her hair

Time to clean up! She is such a good helper!

Indian Summer!!

It has been down right HOT the last couple of day, but at least the sun has been shining! We decided to go to the park to take advantage of the opportunity!!! The leaves are changing and made for a stunning backdrop! I absolutely LOVE FALL!! Well...the fall with the cooler weather, but beggars can't be choosers!

Lexie LOVES to SWING!!!

At the top of the slide...

Spreading some Cheer

Lexie and I recently went to Kentucky for a visit. Granny had to have surgery and Grandpa is still at Kingsbrook recovering from a staph infection so we thought we would head down to help out. We are very pleased to report Granny's surgery was a success and she is recovering well! Sorry we weren't able to spend more time with you both! Get Well SOON!!!

Lexie reading to Great Grandpa Don...it must have been a serious story!!

Grandpa having a good day...must be the visitors!!

One-derful Check-up!!

Lexie had her one year old check up the day after her actual birthday I still can't believe she is already a year! My how time flies! In any event, as most of you know, she has always measured about 3 months ahead of her age group! Not much changed during this visit! The doctor said she was "perfect". She measured in at 22.5 lbs which is about the 75th percentile. She slipped about 15-20% there, but held strong in the height category!!! She is still coming in 95% taller than most kids her age at about 31.5 inches! That is to be expected...with a super tall Daddy! She did pretty well with the shots...I say that lightly...the MMR did her it! I can sympathize with her! I had to get a booster the day after I had her and it wasn't enjoyable in the least! All in all, she is in wonderful health! What more can we ask for??

Punkin' pickin' on her BIRTHDAY!!!

It was a beautiful day to celebrate a special first birthday and to pick a perfect pumpkin! After a big breakfast, we packed up and headed to Janoski's Farm. Here are a few pictures from Lexie's special first birthday~

We just arrived at the farm and are ready to have some fun!

Lexie and I patiently waiting our turn for the hay ride out to the pumpkin patch.

Finally...There's the pumpkin patch!!!

Lexie can hardly wait, but is enjoying the ride!!

Lexie gets down to business!!! She carefully inspects the prospects...in search for the perfect pumpkin!!!

After searching and searching, and searching some more...she finds HER perfect pumpkin.

She likes this one so much that she decided to try to lift it herself! (It weighed 4 lbs!!!)

With the pumpkin picking complete...we headed off to the corn maize! Bad idea! We kept getting lost! No joke!

Then it was off to the hay jumping tent!

As if you couldn't tell...she had a BLAST...and found a little friend!!!

After a "ride" on the 'Cool Bus'...

...we measured up next to the big pumpkin...

...and stopped to smell the flowers!

We had so much fun at the farm, but it was time to head home so Lexie could take a nap! She had to be alert and awake for her phone and video call from her dada!!! We finally got the skype to work for more than 5 minutes so we were able to see and talk to Russ for over 20 minutes! It was the best birthday present of all!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHUPES!!! You have brighten our world more than you will ever know! We love you so very much!

What a difference a year makes!!!
