Surprise...Surprise

(I know I am late in getting this post up...but better late than never! )

A couple of weeks ago I hit that milestone called "the 30's".  Russ decided that I should bring in the thirties in style.  After a few weeks of plotting and planning, I greeted my thirties with a house full of friends and family.  I had an idea something was going on...but didn't have a clue there would be that many people!  Thanks to everyone for helping me celebrate my birthday...I should turn thirty every year!

Is there a Doctor in the House?

It doesn't seem possible...Kirsten is finally a doctor!
We had the pleasure of joining her and the rest of the family, in Buffalo last weekend to celebrate her commencement from Dental School! It is hard to believe that my "precious" is all growns up!  SOOO does this mean I get free dental care from here on out?  (hehehe)

Kirsten joins the ranks as the third doctor in the family.  We couldn't be more proud of her!  All of her hard work has paid off!!!!  Just in the nick of time since Lexie is sprouting a few new teeth these days!

After the ceremony, Lexie posed on top of the Buffalo before leaving the campus to head over to the firehouse for more celebrations!  Patrick , along with help from Marsha, put on a great party!!

The show stopper was an incredible layer cake molded in the shape of teeth. It was a huge surprise...and a delicious one at that!!!
Best of luck to Kirsten as she embarks on her new journey at the VA clinic in Buffalo to complete a residency.  Fill that brain with more knowledge!  We are so VERY proud of you!!!

Jazz Fest Weekend

What a fun filled weekend we had in New Orleans!  We joined Lisa & Mitch, and Mike, Debbie, Marissa & Spencer for the NOLA Jazz and Heritage Festival.  The weather was beautiful on Thursday so we were able to relax and enjoy all the great music and wonderful food!!!
Friday we skipped the festival and headed down to the French Quarters.  After a quick stop for drive through daiquires, we met up with Noelle, David & the girls.  What an experience!!!   You could see remnants of hurricane Katrina, but for the most part, the city was clean!  Of course no trip would be complete without a visit to Margaritaville...and with no open container laws, the adults were able to enjoy a few of Jimmy's famous concoctions...though they don't compare to Mitch's magical margaritas!

It just so happened while we were strolling through the city, we stumbled upon Tommy Lee who was filming an upcoming 10 episode reality TV series for Discovery Channel.  Camera crews were everywhere...so keep your eyes peeled come August when the show is set to air!

Finally after much anticipation, the big event arrived!  It looked as though it was going to be rained out, but about 3 oclock in the afternoon, the clouds parted and the skies cleared for Jimmy Buffett's performance!  It was a MUDDY MESS, but worth every second!  After hearing FINS, and singing along to Margaritaville, everyone seemed to forget about standing ankle deep in Mud!  What a wonderful visit with family and friends!!!  We are looking forward to many many more good times!
