Story Telling
When Russ heard on the radio that Nickelodeon was putting 4 of their cartoons on the big stage, he thought it would be a fun thing to check out. Even though Lexie really only watches two of the cartoons, she knows about the other two from commercials and what not.
After going back and forth on the idea, we got tickets and invited my mom to come out for the weekend to join us. We decided we would keep it a surprise for Lexie since the last time Russ and I took her to see Elmo....it was the only thing she talked about...and she doesn't even watch Elmo! (Did I forget to mention that 2 of the 4 live cartoons were the Wonder Pets & DORA??)
After we bought the tickets, Russ found out that Pitt was hosting Villanova (basketball) and since one of Russ's friends from college is a coach for Nova, he really wanted to go to the game. Worked out perfectly because Aunt Allie really wanted to come out to see Lexie (and Dora)!
We had a great time...even though poor Lexie had a rough week with 5 days of fevers and intestinal issues followed immediately by bronchitis!!! She still managed to enjoy the show, but she didn't get nearly as in to it as she did for Elmo. She stood for almost the entire show and danced as much as she could, but by the end of the production she was pooped! (Though that didn't prevent her from telling us all about Swiper the Sneaky Fox!!!)
Thanks Mom (Nini) and Aunt Allie for making the trip and helping us take care of our little patient! We had a great time...and PRAY you guys don't get sick!
Olivia was soooo excited to see Nini and Aunt Allie! (and Oscar too!)
Lexie laid on the couch while Aunt Allie read her stories

The day of the show...poor thing is looking a little rough..and a little green!
Aunt Allie and Olivia (looks like Aunt Allie is signing her a song...I'm not sure though)
Lexie was just beside herself when she found out what her "surprise" was...don't let the face and her fever fool you!!!!
The Wonder Pets!
I finally got her to sit down once Dora was on...she had been standing for a good 70 minutes or so! Not much energy left in the tank!
Olivia watches the show comfortably from the confines of Aunt Allie's lap...she had a cat nap (Olivia that is) a bit earlier during the first two acts...Ni Hao Kai-lan and The Backyardigans!

Quite possibly Lexie's favorite part...as we are STILL hearing about it!

Bionic Woman???
Thanks to the GREAT staff at Nova Care, my shoulder is really REALLY starting to feel better!! The ultrasounds, stim, stretching and strengthening is really paying off!!! My favorite though is my "bionic band-aid"...I don't know what it is really called...that is just the name I give it!!!
It is the coolest thing ever! There is a positive and negative side on the bandage and they place medicine on the pads which is then electronically driven into my tissue. (Iontophoresis--according to Russ) I like my name better--bionic band aid! :)

Big Winter Storm=Big Winter Fun!
All week long the weather reports were calling for "the first big winter storm" to hit the area. Originally, the forecast called for 6-8 inches of snow, which they ultimately amended to 8-10. Little did we know we would be blasted with close to 2 feet of snow!!! It started snowing around noon...and didn't stop for 24hours! When it first started snowing, the snow flakes were HUGE...so pretty...but it was a very wet, heavy snow! Later it turned to a finer, lighter snow. At times, we couldn't even see our neighbor's house it was snowing so hard!
Here is a picture taken first thing in the morning...meanwhile, it kept snowing for another 5 hours!!!
A picture looking out the back door toward the neighbor's house...yes, that is snow up to the wheel wells of the car!!! I haven't seen this much snow in a loooooong time!
After Russ shoveled the sidewalk, we got Lexie bundled up so she could play in all the snow!!!

She didn't quite know what to think of it all. She wanted to "run" in it, but it was way too deep!
Al, our neighbor, wading through the white stuff!! He is just as tall as Russ...if this gives you any idea as to how much of it we had!!!
Russ trying to shovel some of the snow piles left from the plow. He decided to make an Ice Castle for Lexie!!!
Olivia and I enjoying the snow inside where it was W A R M!!!!

Lexie is enjoying her "ice castle"...
...she kept asking me to come in with her!!!
Time to get out...

Olivia wanted in on some of the fun too...so I bundled her up in what I later coined her "pink straight jacket". She was such a good sport about the whole thing!!! She loved being outside, but the snowsuit was a bit too small--making it hard for her to move much!
The guys needed an adult beverage...playing in this deep snow it hard work! Poor Ginger was buried in it!!!
