Spa Day...for Daddy???

The girls absolutely love taking a bath with their daddy! During this particular bath, Russ was in for the treat! Lexie decided she wanted to shampoo Russ' hair while Olivia was washing his back. Talk about a spa treatment!

The girls hard at work making daddy look 'pretty'
Scrub, scrub, scrub
Olivia providing a little water therapy

These girls sure know how to spoil their daddy!

Suds, spilsh and splash!

Sometimes bath time can be more 'fun' than other times. The girls are VERY good about taking baths, keeping the water in the tub, not splashing too much--all while having fun! I have to admit that on most days, baths are very quick (wash hair, wash bodies, rinse hair and out). On this particular day, daddy was home to help...and partake in some of the fun. Rather than rush through bath time, we let the girls play, float, 'swim', and splash around. It was great fun--I added to the fun by giving the girls silly new dos!

Having fun in the suds!
Our bathing beauties!!!
So silly!

Mini-visit-ors

We were all sooooo excited to hear that Uncle Brad was going to arrange his schedule so that he could work in Pittsburgh!!! Not only would we get to see Uncle Brad, but we would get to see Aunt Becky, Molly and Ford!!! It turned out to be a "mini-visit"...as they were only able to stay for one night...so we made the best of our time together...and made them promise to come back when they could stay a little longer!!!

A visit with the cousins wouldn't be complete without the "babies in the tub" picture. Here, Lexie 'helps' Molly get ready to have her hair washed!
The girls are getting squeaky clean...or maybe they are just playing with the bath toys...either way, they look like they are having fun!
Ford joins in for some fun! Looks like there is room for more...anyone want to join them?

Just before the Houchins made their departure back to the other side of the state...we tried our best to get a few pictures of all the kids....T R I E D being the operative word!!!
So darn cute!!!
The 'babies' chattin' it up...don't you wonder what they are saying!?!?!?
From the looks of this picture, it is hard to believe there is almost 6 months age difference between these two cuties!!! They are both growing up soooo fast!

We can't wait for our next adventure with the whole Houchins family!!!

Splish Splash

I couldn't resist bath time with the girls! Lexie loves taking baths--especially all the bubbles, and Olivia just loves to stare at her big sister! We had a squeaky clean time!

Rub-a-dub-dub...

Enjoying the bubbles...

Bathing Beauty

In keeping with tradition yet again, Daddy got the pleasure of giving Olivia her first "bath". Even though she didn't get to splash with the other girls in the big tub just yet, she still enjoyed the attention from daddy!

Getting ready for her bath...
...ahhhhhh fresh and clean!!!!

More Visitors

Last Monday, after Olivia's first check up, we were greeted with yet more visitors. Molly and Aunt Becky made a road trip from Philly to check out the newest edition to the family. It was a quick visit, but we still managed to get a ton of pictures!!!

Taking advantage of the BEAUTIFUL weather...these two artists decorated the driveway with some toddler chalk art!

Posing on the steps of the deck....

...it is hard to get two tots to look and smile at the same time...but pretty close here!
Uncle Russ/Daddy takes the girls down stairs for some more fun.
Goofing around on the areo bed...looks like a good time but reminds me of a song I used to sing when I was a kid...(two little monkeys jumping on the bed....)
Kisses were in abundance this trip!!
No trip would be complete without the tots in the tub pics!

Too bad we didn't get any pics of the three little ones all together! Maybe next time!

Last Day as an ONLY Child

As excited as I was for this pregnancy to be over and to meet the newest member of our family...I was a bit uneasy in anticipation about having to divide my time between two little ones. For the last 20 months, I have had the pleasure of staying home and being a mommy to the best little girl on earth! I wasn't sure how she was going to react to having a sibling, and how I we were all going to make the transition...but instead of dwelling on it, I decided that the day was going to be about Lexie. I spent most of the day catering to her and taking in as much Lexie/Mommy time as I could (after a few last minute "to-dos" that is)! I didn't answer the phone, (sorry to all of those that called to wish us well) I let her stay up past her bed time, and even tried to help Nini give her a bath (since I couldn't crawl in the tub or reach over from the side). It was such wonderful day...one that I will never ever forget!

Special thanks to GG for the Dora bath mat! Lexie loved the bath tub before...now we have to drag her out of there!!! She just love love loves it!

Our little water baby enjoying her bath...thanks Nini for the help!!!

Lexie's new "cheese" face...let's hope she doesn't pass this along to her sibling!!!!

Spontaneous Visitors!!!

I couldn't have been more excited when Becky called and said she and Molly were up for a road trip! We have been talking about getting these two little ones together since Christmas, but with hectic schedules, haven't had the opportunity. We jumped at the chance to welcome them here for a little while...and though it was a very quick visit...we had a TON of fun!

The girls didn't get a chance to play much on the first day since our visitors got a little bit of a late start, but that didn't stop them from having a good time. Wednesday we loaded up and went to Toddler Time! The girls danced and sang and played with musical instruments! I was really hoping the weather would have been a bit nicer so we could get to the park, but mother nature had other plans. It rained most of the day so we made our own fun inside. The girls played well together with minimal "sharing" issues!!!! We are so thrilled that they made the trip...and are keeping our fingers crossed for an Easter reunion!!

Waiting by the door to go to TODDLER TIME!!

Molly jumped right in on all the fun...look out American Idol, there is a new contestant in town!!!

Lexie is getting in on the fun too!

Molly is LOVING her first trip to Toddler Time!

Lexie was glad Molly got to join us this week and hopes she comes back again!

Back at the house, they are on a serious mission for more FUN!!!

Uncle Russ gives Molly a lift on Lexie's airplane!!!
Then it is back to business taking turns "helping" each other.
Molly was feeling quite motivated and decided to squeeze in a workout!
She is a real pull-up pro...she is showing Uncle Russ how it is done!

Is it time to wind down already??? The girls snuggled with Russ for a story time adventure with Dora.

Up from her nap...it was back to full speed in the Kitchen for Molly...(I think I smell a great birthday gift mom and dad...hint hint hint)

After her nap, Lexie was ready to go...poor George didn't know what hit him!!
Of course we couldn't resist tub time for these two water babies! Oh what fun they had splashing in the tub!!!

Not the most flattering picture of these two cuties, but it is just so adorable to see the expressions on their faces!

Clean from head to toe and all smiles! Time to towel off.

It was pajama jammy-time for Lexie and Molly. Don't they look so sweet holding hands!

Still holding hands on our way to the kitchen for a bed time snack.

It was a race up the stairs after a long and fun filled day...

...a few good night kisses, and they were out cold!

My How Time Flies!

It is hard to believe a year has flown by already!!!!  Russ and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary a few days ago.  He had made plans for a romantic dinner at a fabulous restaurant downtown, but our sitter bailed last minute.  : (

Trying to make the best of it, we regrouped and decided to take Lexie "swimming".  I think Russ had just as much fun as she did!

While it would have been wonderful to celebrate downtown, we enjoyed the evening at home.  We were even able to have a piece of our wedding cake after Lexie went to bed.  (It barely made the trip back...it doesn't look pretty, but it still tasted
w o n d e r f u l!)
