The next morning, before Nini left we managed to get most of the Christmas decorations down from the attic. After the kids woke up, Nini took off and the girls and I sorted through lights, garland, and ornaments. Lexie was so excited when I told her that we were going to be going to cut down a tree. She so desperately wanted to go and play out in the snow, but we weren't prepared for that, and truthfully, there wasn't enough snow to 'play' in...so going to cut down the tree was a good compromise!
We were all ready to go when Russ arrived home from the base and Lexie was SO INCREDIBLY EXCITED to pick out a tree! We drove up the road to Hozak's Farm (where we got our tree last year) and waited our turn for the tractor to take us out to the field. They didn't have any 'big' Fraiser Firs left to cut down (only on the rack) so we opted for a Caan Fir. We took our time, and really searched through the rows of trees until finally, we found it! We cut it down, took it home, and promptly put it up. Russ even managed to get the light put on it before the girls went to bed so it was all ready for us to decorate the next morning! Let the Christmas festivities begin!!!
O' almost Christmas Tree....
"TIMBurrrrrr," it was cold outside!
