Easter came early for Lexie...in the form of a GOOSE egg!!! While we were out for a walk...taking advantage of the above freezing temp, we stopped to visit with our neighbor Regis who was out working in his garage. She was having a great time, until...she ran across the driveway (part of the concrete had settled and sank leaving a slight drop off) and fell flat on her face. The noise her head made when it hit the concrete is still echoing in my head...making me sick thinking about it! She INSTANTLY began to cry and all three of us ran to pick her up. Russ was the first to reach her and Rege and I went inside to get some ice and a towel to clean her up. She scuffed up her forehead, upper lip, and had a bloody nose! It is a good think she fell the way she did according to Russ, otherwise, we may have been back to the ER for more stitches!!!
We got Lexie home, gave her some milk and cookies and let her watch a special hour long Dora the Explorer...
All cleaned up after dinner and back to her self!!!
Poor Russ can't catch a break! First it was me yesterday with my injury...then he had to cover his own shift and half of a co-worker's last night, then he had to doctor up Lexie today...all before he had to pull another shift and a half again tonight! (Should I mention he has to pull double duty this weekend between the military and the ER???? Don't feel too badly though, he is off 4 days next week with his friends to go to the Big East Basketball Tournament in NYC...a much deserved mini-vacation!)
